Haiti: Judgment & Restoration
In the wake of great human loss and suffering people look for comfort, explanation, and a sense of personal security. Not many loving and pure people have the ability to imagine an entire nation in this kind of pain. Some will speculate as to whether this is the judgment of the Almighty, the earth cleansing herself of sin, or simply a nation living life on a fault line. I can be honest and say I have little confidence that there are many that know definitively what this is. One thing I know for sure is that whatever it is, the Lord Jesus Christ is aware of it all and already knows what He is going to do.
As all the official statements and comments come forth, I admit that I must be behind the spiritual curve because I am not ready to take a stance on anything with so many questions in my heart for the Lord to answer. If this is judgment; what about the righteous? I know that Christian people die in judgment and natural disaster, but I want to know about these. If this is the cleansing of sin, what about the forgiven? If this is simply a nation living on a fault line; where was the common sense? Please excuse my simplicity, I read the book and believe that God knows everything so no need in me not knowing if I ask.
In all that I do not know, I do know that ultimately if this is the judgment of God it’s for the restoration of an entire nation. Perhaps many in the nation of Haiti will turn toward God and away from darkness as we are all invited to do. In all of this we will see where self righteousness dwells in the Church because some will suppose that they were worse than themselves. (see Luke 13:1-4.)
One asked me what should we do and how should we pray; My answer is this: Do and say nothing until the dust settles and the will of God can be properly and prayerfully discerned, presumption will make the church look like a jackass in the ocean. Pray that God will raise up a voice in that nation. After disaster God has historically raised up a voice to present His wonderful eternal Kingdom.
I encourage all to be prayerful and have the compassion of God. Help where the Lord permits and be open to hard answers that the Lord may give. Our emotional thoughts and reactions do not change God. Let’s hear Him out.

The reason I must rule out judgement is because of Jesus’ suffering in Pilot’s torture chamber where he took on himself all our sin and laid it on his Son. It looks like a work of the enemy that our God will turn to good. We must look for the abounding grace that is always present with the abounding sin. Hang on Brother!
Excellent, you have spoken my heart on this matter and yes we must remain in prayer now for the restoration.

God is going to surprise us with His Glory in this situation and we will not be the same.
Judgement or Restoration: John 16:12 ” I have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now”. The Spirit has many things yet to say to us concerning this matter and he will soon speak!
In the mean time, Pray without ceasing, Seek the Kingdom of God and live as the scripture so declares, and walk in the Authority and Love of Christ!
